The Proposed Project
The Department of National Defence (DND) is proposing a project. The project includes the provision of five new storage buildings of roughly 20 ft x 60 ft dimension each with one overhead door and one pedestrian door. The storage buildings are dedicated to 2 Production Section and 1 each for Utilities Section, Range Training Areas (RTA) Section and Environmental Services Branch (ESB) for training and development of 4 General Support unit. The buildings will not require electrical or heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) or plumbing services and will be used exclusively as storage structures. The building system will be prefabricated modular fiberglass design or similar and will be supported on concrete slab on grade. The consultant will evaluate the existing ground slab at the proposed location and, if the slab is deemed inadequate to support the proposed new buildings, a new ground slab will be designed and constructed at the same location. The scope of work would include an assessment of the existing site, including existing plans and reports, the conduct of site-specific studies, the preparation of engineering plans, and the submission of a construction package for implementation.
