Red Pheasant Cree Nation Youth Centre - Public Comments invited

June 9, 2026 - Indigenous Services Canada must determine whether the proposed Youth Centre, to be located on Red Pheasant Cree Nation, is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.

Proposed Project

Red Pheasant Cree Nation is proposing the construction of a youth centre with an adjacent sweat lodge. The youth centre will be 2,048sq.m. over two floors and the sweat lodge will be 105sq.m. The project is designed as a 50 year, minimum, building and will require 14,250sq.m. of site area to accommodate the buildings, parking and outdoor program spaces. The development will require a new sanitary line, gas and power utilities, data and telephone lines installed and tie-ins. Construction activities are planned for July 2026 with completion anticipated in late 2027.
