Replacement of the LL2367 navigation aid at Longue Pointe, Traverse

The Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) needs to construct a new navigational aid structure to replace the existing LL2367 structure. The structure in question is the rear light of the Longue Pointe, Traverse maritime alignment, which has reached the end of its useful life.

The Coast Guard wishes to contract a specialized contractor to provide the labor, materials, tools, equipment, and services necessary to complete the work. The work consists of demolishing the existing steel structure and foundation, then constructing a new reinforced concrete foundation on piles and assembling the new steel structure provided by the Coast Guard.

The work, expected to take approximately four weeks, is scheduled for the period from October 5 to November 20, 2026.

May 14, 2026 – The Canadian coast guard intends to make a determination regarding whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, the CCG is inviting public comments until June 16, 2026 respecting that determination.
