Raphael Bridge Scour Protection Project - 2026

Raphael Bridge, a public pedestrian and cycling crossing located over Fontaine River in Kouchibouguac National Park, New Brunswick, requires slope stabilization due to the loss of scour protection as a result of natural erosion. The proposed work will include installation of geotextile and grouted R50 riprap at the bridge abutments, as well as R100 riprap upstream and downstream of the bridge. The project is expected to take approximately three weeks to complete, with construction beginning in late-July and completion anticipated for mid-August.
