JTA - Hochimini Trail Realignment

This project will be assessed with a basic impact assessment. Hochimini (6e) is a wildland trail located between Pyramid and Patricia Lakes that meanders past a wetland and along the wildlife movement corridor. Project objectives are to realign the current trail away from the existing wetland area to higher ground. 725 m of trail will be re-aligned along the Hochimini Slough. The trail will be realigned 20-30m upslope of the original location. It will remain 0.5 m (approx.) in width, giving a total area of 363m2. Only hand tools will be used, such as loppers, hand saws, pick-mattocks, pulaski, mcleods, shovels, rakes, wheelbarrow, tarps. This project will be completed through weekly trail days and by groups facilitated by the Jasper Trails Alliance (JTA) from May-September 2020.
