Depth of Cover Mitigation at four sites on the 114.3 mm Jasper Transmission Pipeline in Proximity to the Fiddle River

In 2020, ATCO Pipelines completed an integrity assessment of 4.2 km of the Jasper Transmission Pipeline from LSD 02-14-49-27-W5M to LSD 11-9-49-27-W5M to identify integrity risks along the pipeline. As a result, the assessment recommended depth of cover mitigation to address pipeline integrity risks at 4 sites in the vicinity of the Fiddle River. At site 1 - east of Fiddle River Main Channel, ATCO will replace and lower the pipeline east of the Fiddle River. At site 2 - Fiddle River Overflow Channel, ATCO will replace and lower the pipeline at the Fiddle River Overflow Channel. At sites 3 and 4 - Unnamed Tributary, ATCO will install armouring at an unnamed tributary of the Athabasca River in each site. This project will be assessed with a basic impact assessment.
