New rooftop radiocommunications antenna for Central Mountain Air at the Calgary International Airport

Central Mountain Air is proposing the installation of a rooftop (10 m above ground level) radio antenna. The building is located at 5420 – 11 St. NE: Calgary International Airport. The radio will be used to communicate with Central Mountain Air's aircraft flying to and from Calgary.

April 20, 2020 – Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada has determined that the proposed project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

This determination was based on a consideration of the following factors:

•impacts on rights of Indigenous peoples;

•Indigenous knowledge;

•community knowledge;

•comments received from the public; and

•technically and economically feasible mitigation measures.

Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada is satisfied that the carrying out of the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

Therefore, Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada may carry out the project, exercise any power, perform any duty or function, or provide financial assistance to enable the project to be carried out in whole or in part.
