Field Community Wildfire Risk Reduction and Boulder Creek Fire Guard

The objective of this project is to reduce the wildfire threat to the community of Field and surrounding areas by improving fire resilience within Yoho National Park. The Boulder Creek Fire Guard portion of the project will also serve as a containment line to support fire suppression strategies in the event of a wildfire or the containment boundary as part of a prescribed fire.


Latest update

June 10, 2026 – Parks Canada intends to make a determination regarding whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Parks Canada is inviting public comments until July 10, 2026 respecting that determination.
